The Meaning of “Stool” Mr. Quang was given lab paperwork by his doctor. The RN gave him instructions to come back in one week for his follow-up appointment and gave him three specimen containers. The RN asked Mr. Quang to bring the three containers back with stool samples and asked him if he understood what to do. He nodded yes. When Mr. Quang came back to the clinic for his follow-up appointment, he gave the three empty specimen containers to the aide and said that the nurse told him to bring them back. Mr. Quang did not know what the word “stool” meant.
