INTERPRETER AND TRANSLATOR SERVICES
The Language Assistance Program at University Health System (UHS) is committed to supporting the UHS mission of serving thecommunity and providing the highest quality health care. As an integral part of UHS, the Language Assistance Program serves both
inpatient and outpatients to increase value and successful outcomes. We are dedicated to helping providers establish a direct relationship
with their Limited English Proficiency patients through accurate and complete interpretation and translations.
INTERPRETER SERVICES:
UHS recognizes that being in the hospital can pose new and different challenges. Patient Relations and the Language Assistance Programhelps to overcome those challenges by actively addressing the linguistic needs of Bexar County patients serviced by UHS.
The University Health System through its established partnerships currently has over 250 languages available through phone
interpretation. Language Assistance is accessible throughout the University Health System using any UHS network phone or CyraCom issued phone.

TRANSLATION SERVICES:
The University Health System Language Assistance Program coordinates translation of any forms which must be presented to patients orvisitors in languages other than English in order to fulfill UHS responsibilities to its patients and to comply with all applicable laws.
Written translations may include medical documents such as: consent forms, research and treatment protocols, patient information,
medical letters, diagnostic studies and other documents used by health professionals. For more information please contact the UHS
